We agree with you! It has taken us far too long to deliver you specials, but that's because we have started working with more distributors and have been tasting a multitude of wines. We took our notes and now you can see for yourself by enjoying some of these delicious wines! Need some inspiration for what wines to try? Take a look at this week's specials:Lorenzo Sassetti, ‘Istriciaia’, Maremma Toscana, '09 Bottle $19 Case $228This featured wine comes from Italy’s Tuscany region. It is known as a super Tuscan. The IGTs are a favorite amongst American wine drinkers. It’s hard to find good value when it comes to Tuscans but Istriciaia is definitely a bargain. This wine pairs well with a simple pasta dishes with red meat sauce such as a Bolognese or grilled swordfish with tomato and white bean cassoulet.Shelter, “The Butcher” Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, '07 Bottle $49 Case $588Where did they come up with the name, “The Butcher”? David Stevens, owner of Shelter Wine Company is giving tribute to his good friend in New York City who owns a butcher shop. This is an interesting project because there are many winemakers who are putting their blends together. Their cabernets are from multiple vineyard blocks and all of them are unique. It has very earthy/smoky characters and is a very balanced wine with a long finish. Speaking of meat, this wine would pair nicely with roasted meats, rack of lamb, or even a sweet meaty dish like teriyaki spare ribs.Moulin De Gassac, Guilhem, Rosé, 2012 Bottle $11 Case $132This rosé is a blend of Blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Carignan, and 20% Syrah. It has an aroma of vanilla, dark red fruits, oak, and spices. The mouthfeel is full and round with dark fruits and has a long finish. Excellent wine for the summer. You can get lost in this vibrantly pink rosé!
