Hello from the Vine Post,

When Tom and I started this venture our goal was to get everyone drinking wine. The 21 year-old college student that was drinking tequila at the local Mexican watering hole, the 35 year-old yuppie drinking Manhattan's at the new "Hot Spot Restaurant" and the experienced wine drinker drinking whatever wines that the local supermarket has stacked in their wine section. We want them to drink differently. Light & fresh Vinho Verde from Portugal, crisp Sauvignon blanc from Loire Valley, delicious red wines from Italy complementing their pasta bolognese and powerful Napa Valley Cabernet with their aggressively seasoned NY Strip steak. This is the direction all the big cities in the US are taking. New York, Boston, L.A., etc. People are enjoying higher quality, healthier wines without the use of herbicides or pesticides, from smaller producers who have a more "hands-on" approach to wine making. The list goes on but this is what we want our customers drinking and this is what the Vine Post can offer.

On that note, we want to tell you about a wine that we drink when we're in the mood for some delicious wine. The Vine Post - First Edition - Chardonnay is a light fresh style Chardonnay. We made 56 cases for our first vintage. It's not manipulated with the use of oak or malo-lactic fermentation (the process making chardonnay buttery). Not that we don't like that style, but our chardonnay is not just about the wine. We're thinking of what we want to drink with our oysters Rockefeller or our locally caught sauteed snapper. Well, that's enough for now. I'll get off my soap box.
