Alain Pascal, owner of this prestigious winery in the Bandol region, the grand cry of Provence, is certainly a contender. That is because the former boxer, now established winemaker has been making knockout wines for almost two decades now. The domaine was named in tribute to his father Honore and when his father passed away, he decided to honor him and . This rose is blended with 40% Mouvedre, 40% Cinsault, and 20% Grenache. It's clay soils give it nice minerality and a later harvest than usual. They are aged 18 months in oak

Raventos I Blanc 'de Nit' Rosado Cava, Penedes, Spain, 2011($21.00/BTL.)

This delicious Cava is made using the same method as Champagne (Methode Traditionelle...in case you wanted to know). They still keep it old school; Raventos uses a horse-drawn carriage and they say no to any pesticides and herbicides making this a lovely biodynamic wine. This wine is salmon-pink in color, has lovely aromatics of strawberry, raspberry, and a hint of peach thanks to the 5% Monastrell added. This Brut Cava is truly a lovely elegant wine and you and your partner can enjoy this with strawberries, soft cheeses, and lighter fish dishes.
