Sleight of Hand Cellars was founded in 2007 by Trey Busch and Jerry and Sandy Solomon. The winery has been open for just a dozen years, but in that time they have been named one of “The Next Generation” of up and coming wineries in Washington State.

There are over 10,000 grape varieties and 6,000 belonging to wine species Vitis vinifera. Ask yourself, “Have you tasted at least 100 wine varietials”? If not, then why not expand your horizons? We live in a time where access to wines all across the world have increased, yet we are still stuck in the homogenization of the post-phylloxera era. Join us and Marco Uperi of Artevino as we pour indigenous varietals from Europe.

Domaine de Beauclair - Clos des Quarts Vouvray Sec, Loire, France 2017 - $25/BTL

100% Chenin Blanc. Located to the east of the Vouvray appellation in the town of Noizay, the Beauclair estate is worked by Christian and Freddy Blot. They currently operate 21 Ha of Vouvray and 4 Ha of Touraine. With great aromatic richness, it goes perfectly with seafood cuisine: bars, oysters, shellfish. It is a wine that combines freshness and minerality.

Domaine de la Chapelle Pouilly-Fuisse Les Grands Climat, Burgundy, France - $39/BTL

100% Chardonnay. One of the more iconic producers within Pouilly-Fuisse, Domaine de la Chapelle reflects a traditional winemaking style (organic, extensive pruning, no pesticides) and showcases the remarkable structure of the soil. The floral and mineral notes and powerful structure is recognized among the best wines of the Burgundy area. Noble honeyed yellow fruit mixing with sweet, buttered Meursault-like smells and smoky, intense minerality. Drink now!

Conte Ferdinando Guicciardini Massi di Mandorlaia Morellino di Scansano, Italy 2016 - $23/BTL

85% Sangiovese, 15% Alicante. Ruby red in color, aromas of ripe red fruits, tobacco, and officinal herbs. Flavors of black cherry and dusty tannins. Pair this with a pasta dish with mushroom and shaved Parmigiano!

Piaggia - Vannucci 'Piaggia' Carmignano Riserva DOCG, 2016 - $48/BTL

70% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot. Piaggia has managed to solidly establish its place among the great wineries of the classic Tuscan DOC of Carmignano, being called by Gambero Rosso “one of the best wineries in the region of Carmignano, rather, in Tuscany.” Notes of flowers, dried cherry, and cassis, and cocoa on the nose. On the palate, flavors of ripe red berry fruit, lots of ripe tannins, and a long fresh finish.

Benjamin de Beauregard Pomerol, France 2015 - $52/BTL

75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc. The Second Wine of Château Beauregard, Benjamin de Beauregard, is made from a strict selection of plots on sandier soils. It benefits from the same high-performing vinification facilities as the first wine, however, the the ageing process is shorter and is carried out in no more than 30% new oak. The flavors are earthy in nature, and smooth but high in tannins.

Smokescreen 'The Chemist' Red Wine, Paso Robles, California, 2018- $23/BTL

A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah, and Teroldego. Inky purple in color, aromas of black fruits and tobacco spice. Flavors of dark berries, plum, mocha, and graphite and a long silky finish.
