TVP Picks: Today's Featured Wine and Picnic Wines for Spring!

This is the top cuvee with 100% Syrah. This Syrah brings my mind to Northern Rhone right off the bat because we have a slightly barnyard character with leather and dark peppered fruit (blackberry and plum) on the nose. I'm enjoying this meaty/fleshy midpalate. There is good texture with leather, juicy dark black berry, and peppered notes. The palate has very good density with ripe and dense fruit. The tannin is well rounded there is a fine integration of oak. It is an excellent example of a lovely old world wine with French character!

Now that spring is in the air, it's time to dust off the old blanket and treat yourself and your significant other to an outdoor lunch. Picnic is an art, and as such it must be treated with all due respect: this is why we have prepared a selection of wines that are perfect for taking on a trip with you.

100% Areni Noir grown on volcanic soils from the mountainside vineyards in Vayots Dzor, Armenia. A dry and aromatic profile with lots of freshness. Pure and tantalizing, savory spice with hints of red fruit.

On the nose, notes of guava, pear, citrus, and stone. Flavors of citrus, grapefruit, lemongrass, and flint. A refreshing and lively line of natural acidity provides focus to the long and clean finish.

From Jochen Beurer, a former BMX champion from Germany and a pioneer of biodynamic farming in his home village of Kernen. This is a delicious blend of Pinot Noir, Dornfelder and Portugeiser. The native varietals add a bit of spice and a dash of dark fruit to the red fruits of the Pinot Noir. What else you wanna know? It’s ****ing delicious. The name, of course, is a joke – roughly translating to “good red.” This ain’t rot gut.

Intense ruby red, on the nose it expresses beautiful notes of red fruit in jam which are flanked by hints of myrtle, licorice, violet and cocoa. In the mouth it is elegant, dense and very long. Characterized by a full taste and a tannic texture perfectly integrated with the taste, it closes with a finish with a clear Mediterranean reference, of great persistence.
