We have offered many times in the past wines from Thibault-Liger Belair and over the years they have produced some phenomenal wines. For those who are unfamiliar, the Liger-Belair family has passed down the tradition of winemaking from generation to generation for the past 250 years. In 2001, Thibault Liger-Belair took over the vines as the winemaker and created Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair. The year 2002 was the first harvest of the Nuits-Saint-Georges, Nuits-Saint-Georges Charmottes, as well as Vosne-Romanée Aux Réas. In 2003, the domaine enriched its range with Richebourg Grand Cru, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Petits Monts, and Bourgogne Rouge. In 2009, the domaine expanded into Beaujolais, and now a Beaujolais-Villages and several Moulin-à-Vent Cru wines are also produced. The 2015 Thibault Liger-Belair Bourgogne Les Deux Terres is stunning. Les Deux Terres translates to "the two lands". It is a blend of Pinot Noir from Burgundy and Gamay coming from crus within Beaujolais (30% Moulin-a-Vent, 50% Chenas, and 20% Bourgogne Cote d'Or). It offers up aromas of earthy red berry fruits with licorice, herbs and spice.  It is the perfect combo of earthy terroir and fleshy red berry fruits backed by a lovely mineral presence. The wine has an impressive silky & fleshy texture beneath the earthy fruit flavors that all hang nicely on the finish.  This is one of the best entry level Bourgogne Rouge wines we have tasted, and this 2015 blend of Pinot Noir & Gamay absolutely delivers.  We also know that this wine will impress both the Cru Beaujolais crowd as well as the classic red Burgundy fans.So please send in your requests today, and we hope to have the wine in hand by Tuesday!
