New Arrivals! From Left to Right: 2017 Ettore Germano Alta Langa Extra Brut, 2017 Empire Estate Dry Riesling Reserve, 2016 Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino DOCG La Casa, 2018 Delille D2 Red Blend

2017 Ettore Germano Alta Langa Extra Brut, Piedmont, Italy - $43/BTLThe Alta Langa is a traditional method sparkling wine composed of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It spends more than 30 months on the lees and has intense dried fruits and toasty notes. At the palate, it has a creamy, mineral presence. The Germano family has owned 6 hectares of land near Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of the Barolo area, since 1856. Ettore Germano was the first of his family to begin producing and bottling estate wines. His son, Sergio, has been overseeing operations since the late 1980s. Sergio has leveraged his immense technical knowledge of the vineyard and the cellar ever since to expand into unknown and creative territories, now farming 20 hectares of land. Sergio has made his mark in the famed hills of Barolo, Alba, and Langhe.

2017 Empire Estate Dry Riesling Reserve, Finger Lakes, New York - $41/BTLGolden-yellow in color, this Riesling delivers aromas of candied lime, ripe yellow apple, baked lemon, ginger spice and subtle herbs, all backed by nervy crushed rock & smoky mineral notes. Intense & focused on the palate, with significant richness and weight to balance acidity, the finish carries mineral & fruit tones with great length.2017 delivered one of the coolest, longest growing seasons in well over a decade. From bud break through mid-November, the Finger Lakes had even, cool weather before a two month stretch of solid sun during harvest. The result is the best vintage for Riesling since the storied 2008s; wines that are drinking well with youth, but have the structure and acidity to age for years to come.
