Pop-up Wine Tasting - Today @ The Vine Post

Pop-up Tasting today at The Vine Post from 5:30 to 7:30 featuring wines from The Broadbent Selections. Wayne Cheeseman from Broadbent will be our guest Sommelier for the day featuring some of his most sought-after wines in his portfolio. Best of all, the tasting is on us! Here are the wines we'll be featuring. There is a limited availability on a few so you can so let us know if you'd like us to reserve some for you.

2011 Gusbourne Estates Brut Reserve, England $50 per bottle

This is a sparkling wine made in the Traditional Method and is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier made at their estate vineyards Kent and Sussex, England. What I'm trying to say here is that it's as close to Champagne as you'll get...same method, same grapes and a hop, skip and a jump from Champagne. British Bubbles is where it's at!

2012 Elderton Command Single Vineyard Shiraz, Australia $96 per bottle

The Command is one of Australia's most coveted wines. This wine is deep purple in color with flavors of blackberries and sweeter baking spices with a long, generous finish. You can drink now or comfortably store in your cellar for the next 15 years. Only 12 bottles available!

2014 Chateau Musar 'Musar Jeune' Rose, Lebanon $22 per bottle

You read that correctly. It's from Lebanon! Chateau Musar is one of the most respected producers in the world with it's first vines planted in 1930. If the challenges of making wine weren't enough, how about making wine during a civil war?! Jeune Rose is a deep colored rose with flavors of bright red fruit. Perfect afternoon sipper.

2016 De Wetshof, Limestone Hill, Chardonnay, South Africa $17 per bottle

De Wetshof is located in Robertson Wine Valley in South Africa but I could have sworn that I was drinking Chardonnay from Chablis. this chardonnay never sees oak and has flavors of apple, peach and lemon with a soft elegant finish.

2013 Quinto do Crasto Vinhas Velhas - Old Vine Reserva, Douro, Portugal $44

This wine is made from traditional Portuguese varietals from vines that have an average age of 70 years. Quinta do Crasto Reserva is a dark intense powerful red that is complex and concentrated with tightly-wound tannins and a long powerful finish. Perfect with game! 36 bottles available.

2013 Quinto do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa, Douro, Portugal $140

Maria Teresa is only made in the best years. Robert Parker gave the 2013 vintage 95 points in Wine Advocate but consistently get in the high 90's. Parker describes the wine as showing big flavor but still being remarkably graceful and impeccably balanced.
