2018 Domaine de Triennes Rose: Now $15/BTL! ($19 Avg.)

62% Cinsault, 17% Syrah, 16% Grenache, 5% Merlot

We just received 3 cases of Domaine de Triennes Rose. Perfect for a sunny afternoon! In 1989, two Burgundians, Jacques Seysses, founder of Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, joined by their Parisian friend, Michel Macaux, went in search of new vineyards. Their attention turned to Provence where they were convinced the potential for great wines was enormous. After a long search, they discovered the Domaine du Logis de Nans in the Var, east of Aix en Provence. They were immediately attracted to its gently sloping hillside with southern exposure. They saw its cool microclimate and its clay and limestone soils as ideal for viticulture. The estate was renamed Triennes, a reference to Triennia, the festival for Bacchus, which was held every three years during Roman times. The prefix “Tri” serving as a reminder of the three original partners.Pale pink in color. This wine has a bouquet of strawberries and white flowers with hints of vanilla. It has the harmony and elegance that has earned world-wide appreciation of the rosés of Provence.

2018 Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc$21/BTL!

Loveblock is perched on top of the hill overlooking Marlborough's Awetere Valley, far removed from the agricultural bustle below.  You can almost see the end of the planet; the peace lifts you above your troubles.  Loveblock is charged with creating the best wine to express this special place.

“Loveblock,” says Erica, “is a love story.”

Loveblock is founded by Erica Crawford, and her husband, Kim, renowned veterans of the New Zealand wine industry.  Erica and Kim began making wine under their own label in 1996 and later sold that business. However, both were lured back by an untamed parcel of land on a hillside in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley and the prospect of making wines that showed “true and naked terroir.” Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc and Loveblock Pinot Gris both hail from the Loveblock vineyard in Marlborough. The Loveblock farm in Awatere Valley is certified organic by BioGro New Zealand, the country’s leading organic certifier.Kim has made Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc with lifted aromatics with peach, juicy citrus notes underscored with blackcurrant and tomato plant spice. The palate is elegant and restrained with peach combining beautifully with the citrus flavors and fresh acidity. The wine lingers long in the mouth, with inherent minerality. Perfect with oysters, seafood dishes, pasta and chicken!

2016 Peju Piccolo Red Blend$38/BTL$32/BTL!

Piccolo is back in stock and on deal too! Peju Winery is family owned and located on the east side of Highway 29 about 1/2 way between Oakville and Rutherford in the middle of the busy “wine strip”. The winery was founded in 1982 by Tony and Herta Peju when they had purchased the 30-acre land in Napa Valley. He and Herta continue to oversee the operations but now daughters, Lisa and Ariana, are now also very actively involved."Our 2016 Piccolo is bright with flavors of blackberry and black cherry combined with cocoa nibs and toasted marshmallow. The palate is round and supple, with fruity characteristics of raspberry jam and soft, silky tannins. Culminating with hints of white pepper and spice, our 2016 Piccolo is a wonderful companion to a broad spectrum of foods such as spicy BBQ, pizza and zesty pasta sauces."
