01/15/20: Palazzo Wine Tasting: 5:30-7p.m., $35/person

We have Scott Palazzo, the winemaker of Palazzo Winery joining us Wednesday night! We welcome Scott and we will be sampling his wines that we have here available in the store! While he was in the music business Palazzo produced for a diverse group of artists, including Green Day, Pearl Jam, Willie Nelson, The Corrs, and Missy Elliot—he even earned a Grammy nomination for his work with Oingo Boingo. Now Palazzo leverages this experience as a boutique “producer” of Napa Valley reds that are inspired by the terroir-driven wines found in Bordeaux. Scott strives to produce wines with delicious layers of rich fruit but balanced by elegant acidity.

01/16/20: Peju and Calmere Winery Tasting: 6-8p.m. $20/person

In 1983, with dreams of raising their young family on a farm, Tony and Herta Peju bought thirty acres of vines in the famed Rutherford district of the Napa Valley. Since then, the Peju family has maintained a meticulous focus on the land, fostering sustainable and environmental consciousness across their five estates. Still family-owned and -operated with daughters Lisa and Ariana poised to take the helm, Peju Winery has become an integral piece of the Napa Valley landscape.

Calmére Estate Winery, which is owned by Lisa and Ariana purchased the old Acacia Winery and nearly 100 acres of vineyards on the Napa side of Carneros. They have combined efforts to offer a variety of hospitality experiences paired with quality wines that are priced quite reasonably (by Napa standards). Total production is around 7,000 cases but that will certainly change as they add wines from their estate vineyards (2016 was the first harvest of their estate grapes with production occurring on site).

We just received two phenomenal wines from two iconic wineries. 2017 Eberle Zinfandel and the 2016 Ridge Pagani Ranch Zinfandel!

The 2017 Eberle Zinfandel is well-balanced exhibiting notes of ripe strawberry, blackberry, toasted oak, and cinnamon. Sourced from four tremendous vineyards in Paso Robles (Steinbeck, CoCaVin, Wine-Bush, and Sauret). $26/BTL

2016 Ridge Pagani Ranch is here! 90-120 year old vines that produce excellent fruit giving off a lovely cherry/cranberry bouquet. Bright red and blue fruits on the palate along with sweet tobacco and chewy tannins. $42/BTL
