Fine-edged, with savory richness midpalate. Dried green herbal notes emerge on the minerally finish. Drink now through 2026. 1,657 cases made.” Jeb Dunnuck 96 rated:  “One of the top Merlots in the report is certainly the 2016 Merlot Howell Mountain from La Jota. This fabulous wine boasts a deep purple color as well as a true “wow” nose of blackberries, ripe cherries, spice, bay leaf, and ample savory, complex herbal notes. It’s medium to full-bodied, has a layered, balanced style, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Drink it any time over the coming two decades.  Drink 2019 to 2039.” Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 94+ rated:  “Blended of 90% Merlot, 5.5% Petit Verdot and 4.5% Tannat, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Merlot Howell Mountain struts out of the glass with vivacious notions of preserved plums, Black Forest cake and blackberry compote with touches of baking spices, black soil, truffles and licorice. The palate is full, rich, concentrated and earthy with firm, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long and earthy. 1,657 cases produced.”

To all you Napa Cabernet connoisseurs and fans of the Meyer Family, this is a must-buy if you love Oakville!Meyer Family is headed by Matt Meyer, son of Justin Meyer who founded Silver Oak in the 1970s and wife Bonny (Bonny's Vineyard anyone?). Justin Meyer is regarded as a pioneer along with the likes of Robert Mondavi, as one of the fathers of California fine wine. The family established Meyer Family in 1987 and produced small amounts of Syrah and Port that that would seldom hit the market. After Justin's death in 2002, the family refocused its production on Cabernet from Oakville, the original Bonny's Vineyard in Oakville and surrounding vineyards including Spitfire. The wines harken back to those early Silver Oak vintages, and into the fantastic wines they produced in the 90s. Slightly lower in alcohol than the current trend in Napa (13.3%), it still exudes pure unadulterated fruit and finesse.Meyer Family Cellars is small production, hands-on, single-vineyard, Oakville greatness! Spitfire is right next to the original Bonny's Vineyard!

Rich, dark chocolatey fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg finishing in a long silky package. How can you resist?! There’s a near 100% chance this sells out, so please treat yourself and grab some before all of it goes!
