We were able to receive a great deal on the 2014 Freemark Abbey Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a limited time offer! For those who had missed the opportunity, we had originally poured this wine late last year during one of our fall tasting events and what first struck us was the wonderful aromas of dark fruits and dried tobacco. On the palate, you get rich dark currant berry fruit along with cedar and subtle herbacious characteristics. Good amount of earth and cocoa powder on the finish. We highly recommend purchasing this wine while this offer lasts as you will get a tremendous value!  Winemaker Notes: This Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon features aromas of black fruit, bing cherry, dark chocolate, red raspberry, green olive and tobacco are integrated with the spicy sweetness of oak, cedar, cinnamon, clove and a hint of black pepper. Full-bodied with a soft entry and great depth.  The Rutherford Bench: The Rutherford Bench is a stretch of the Napa Valley, about three miles long, ranging north from Oakville along the west side of Route 29 to Rutherford. Among the wineries found on that small stretch are Beaulieu, Inglenook, Round Pond Estate, Staglin, and Far Niente to name a few. Vineyard properties like Martha's Vineyard and Bella Oaks Vineyard's grapes are used by wineries such as Heitz Cellars, the Bosche Vineyard supplies Freemark Abbey. "World renowned, this is arguably one of the finest locations for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. Deeply rooted in the alluvial fan soil, these vines produce wines famous for signature “Rutherford dust” and tobacco behind dark fruit flavors. For more than 30 years, Freemark Abbey has held exclusive sourcing rights to two prestigious vineyards here." - Freemark Abbey  - "This shows hot stones, ash, undertones of citrus, slate and oyster shell. Lots of blue fruit on the palate with licorice character to define the full body, tight yet grippy tannins and fruity yet minerally finish. Drink in 2019." - James Suckling (93 pts.)  - "Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley—blended of 78.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 5.6% Malbec and 2.2% Cabernet Franc—has a compelling perfume of dried roses, fragrant herbs and dusty earth over a core of crushed plums and blackberries with a waft of tobacco. Medium-bodied, lively and expressive in the mouth, it has a pleasant pluminess accented by herb and earth notions, finishing long and chewy." - Robert Parker Wine Advocate (92 pts.)
