Arietta 'h block' hudson vineyards red 2018 - $150/BTL

Composition: 56% Cabernet Franc, 44% Merlot, co-fermented.The “H Block” is Arietta’s flagship wine, made from Cabernet Franc vines planted in 1986 on a volcanic outcropping, and adjacent Merlot planted the same year in clay-loam. This wine pays homage to the renowned wines from the Right Bank of Bordeaux. The wine’s bouquet is highly expressive, with abundant notes of red raspberry, nutmeg, cumin, licorice, and slow-toasted oak. It exhibits both liveliness and opulence, with its ripe fruit flavors spreading across the palate and carrying the complex spice notes with it. The wine is aged for twenty months in 100% new French oak barrels and bottled without fining or filtration, resulting in a deep and luscious wine with the structure and weight to age gracefully for many years.

Cheers!
